BAMBOO TREE : Remedy for theTreatment of Impotence, Infertility, and Menstrual Pains

Bamboo is a perennial tree, growing up to a height of 11 to 14 meters found in all parts of India. The Botanical Name of Bamboo tree is Bambusa Arunidinacea. It has dark green leaves. The leaves are used in the form of decoction to treat diarrhea, ulcers and strengthen the stomach. It mixed with palm jaggery is given to women after child birth to ease the expulsion of placenta. The leaves are useful in killing intestinal thread worms. Roots are used to cure scabies, eruption etc. New shoots sprout in July and October every year. Pickles or curry prepared out of the tender shoots gives relief to person suffering from lack of appetite and indigestion. The stem of the tree is round and hollow. Leaf bud is administered in decoction to enhance the free discharge of the menses after delivery. A Poultice of the tender shoots is used for cleaning wounds.
